Janeé Steele, PhD, LMHC

 

Dr. Janeé Steele (she/her) is a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) and certified therapist through the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies. She holds a master’s degree in counseling and a Ph.D. in counselor education and supervision.

With advanced training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Dr. Steele works with adults navigating challenges related to depression, anxiety, and racial trauma. She focuses on helping clients gain clarity, develop effective coping strategies, and make meaningful changes in their daily lives. Her approach is collaborative, affirming, and grounded in evidence-based practices that are adapted to honor each client’s unique background and experiences.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Steele’s insights have been featured in media outlets such as Vogue, Psychiatric Times, Psychology Today, and Counseling Today. She has also published scholarly work in peer-reviewed journals on topics related to mental health, cultural identity, and emotional well-being.

An active presence in the professional community, Dr. Steele maintains membership in several national organizations, including the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies (A-CBT), the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT), the National Social Anxiety Center (NSAC), the Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development (AMCD), the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES), and the American Counseling Association (ACA).
