Background
Perinatal OCD is more common than we think:
According to Collardeau et al., 2019, some surveys acknowledge up to 100% of mothers have intrusive harm-related thought.
Perinatal OCD is often under-recognized and misdiagnosed:
In a study by Miller & colleagues (2022), 6.2% of prenatal women reported clinically significant OCD symptoms; 14% of postnatal women endorsed clinically significant OCD symptoms.
Around 70% of perinatal providers misdiagnosed obsessions around harm coming to infant (Glazier et. al., 2013).
