Founder and Director
“I teach people how to overcome their mental health problems in a more helpful way using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and related interventions such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). The way I work is very directive and solution focused, while also being collaborative. My goal is to "normalize the abnormal," and for my clients to conceptualize their own problems in a way that makes them feel understood. My clients should leave our sessions feeling more empowered and with a set of solutions and choices to help themselves. My perspective on mental health is rooted in science and psychosocial variables. I am humbled to be able to participate in someone's process of overcoming their challenges.”
Psychotherapist
"As a clinician, I believe in offering therapy that's rooted in science and adapted to each person’s unique context. My approach combines evidence-based practices with a deep understanding and appreciation of the systemic and relational influences that shape our lives. I aim to support individuals in discovering effective, practical strategies for coping while also feeling seen, heard and understood.
I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and related evidence-based treatments including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the Unified Protocol for the Transdiagnostic Treatment of Emotional Disorders (UP), and the Unified Treatment Model for Eating Disorders and Comorbidity (UT). Therapy facilitates change by asking you to courageously face tough challenges -- which can be a big ask -- but I am confident that you can do hard things and overcome struggles that have previously limited your life. My role is to help you believe that too, by walking alongside you with compassion, patience, a bit of humor and a lot of curiosity."
Psychotherapist
“As a therapist, I know that asking clients to face their fears or learn to sit with the uncertainty that anxiety brings can be a daunting task. Yet, as a trained evidence-based provider, I am confident in the tools and techniques available to increase our ability to tolerate difficult thoughts and feelings and reduce our overall suffering. Together, we can determine any patterns that are contributing to your suffering and equip you with a toolbox of personalized skills that may be more helpful in the long run.
I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and other evidence-based modalities. In my work with clients, I value collaboration, creating moments to empower the client, the powerful role of humor and making the work light-hearted, and most of all, compassion and understanding.”
Therapy Delivered With Respect, Empathy, and Compassion
We view all people as unique individuals who are doing the best they can to cope with the circumstances they are presented with. Although we are CBT specialists that help people manage their anxiety using the most current and effective treatments, we also recognize how privilege, power, unequal access to resources, prejudice, racism, and other systemic issues affect a person’s lived experience. We approach each relationship with the respect, empathy, and compassion that all people deserve.
Our practitioners have also received additional training and supervision in culturally competent practices, and continue to do so as part of participating in our group.
